  1. Don't take it out until you're sure it's done some damage.  Although the gun shouldn't be used on anything other than lobes (and even that isn't advisable) it doesn't always do damage or result in infections.  I had my cartilage pierced while I was in middle school and because I didn't know any better I had it done with a gun.  It healed with no problems.  Just clean it 2-3 times a day for at least 6 months.  I'm sure they gave you some ear care solution, but I'd use a sea salt solution (1/4 tsp sea salt dissolved in 8 oz of warm water) or an anti-microbial soap (Satin or Provon is preferred, but Dial is also acceptable).  If you show any signs of an infection (yellowish green puss and such), then go to a professional and ask their opinion.  They'll be able to tell you whether or not you should take it out or what you can do if there is an infection.

  2. The reason getting cartilage pierced with a gun is bad is because it can shatter the cartilage.

So taking it out wouldn't do much.

Just clean it with sea salt and warm water a few times a day.

Also, i'm not sure, but if you had shattered cartilage, it would hurt real bad.

  3. I just had my ears pierced at the same place(Cartilage too). Ive been hearing the same things about the guns. This was like a week ago. So far my ears have been ok, but they still hurt.

    Good luck!
