my mom let me get my drivers permit, and now that i have it she won't take me driving. she says it's because of insurance or something, and that she can't afford to get into an accident. but then what the heck is the point of me having a permit? plus, it's really important to practice to be a good driver....so then i can pass my driving test. what should i do?

  1. You are just going to have to wait it out. Maybe you could get a job and cover the difference in insurance each month with you added. Then when she goes somewhere you ask to drive and she will feel as you are more responsible with the job and such.

  2. Move to saudi arabia and then you won't have to drive.

  3. tell her to put you on her insurance so you can be covered and you can pay the difference and you're own gas, then ill bet you she is going to take you driving

  4. You can take driver's ed at your high school.  Otherwise your mother is right, if you get into an accident, any kind of accident, from a fender bender to hit & run, your mother is responsible for all your doing.

  5. My mom did the same thing with my permit AND license.  She was the one who pushed me to get them both, and she lived not even 5 minutes away from my highschool, yet she wouldn't let me drive for the same reasons your mom said you couldn't. I was like then why do I need it!?!

But don't worry, you'll be on the road with road rage in no time LOL

  6. Wait until the insurance quesion is resolved. Then find out what errands your mother has to do, and ask if you can help her by doing the driving.
