Question:

I just got my ears pierced and...?

I'm supposed to turn the earrings and clean them 2-3 times a day, but I can't turn my earring whatsoever. Everytime I try to turn them to get the "earcare anticeptic" inside to heal and clean, it hurts really bad and they don't turn at all. Should I wait a few days before trying to turn them or just do it anyway even if it hurts really bad? Will I get an infection from trying to turn the earrings in my ear too much?

  1. Here's an idea. Try taking a hot/warm shower and wash your ears with an anti-bacterial soap with vitamin e in it. Then you can try turning your earring. Good luck! ^_^

  2. do not use the earring antiseptic. it is WAY too harsh (that's prolly why it stings) and you're better off not using it! use 0.9% saline solution; get it at your pharmacy. dip one end of a q-tip in and clean the front of your piercing. dip the other end in and clean the back.

don't turn it at all. you don't need to turn it; if the jewelry is of good quality (implant grade stainless steel or implant grade titanium), your skin WILL NOT stick too it. and all you're doing is dislodging the gunk & bacteria at the front  and back and turning it all back into the piercing. In addition to that, it's normal to not be able to turn the earring for the first few days.

stay clear of the earcare antiseptic and do the saline solutions and you'll be fine.
