I just got my first ticket. how much will my insurance go up?

I'm 16 and I live in oregon. i have had my license for almost six months. i just got my first ticket. it was for going 25 miles over the speed limit(80 in a 55). i have a high GPA, and since this is my first ticket, i was wondering how much my insurance will go up per month

  2. In most states, anything over 20 mph is considered a major moving violation. I work in the industry and sell in Oregon...I hate to say it but your insurance will easily double if not triple because of your age and the type of ticket.

    I don't remember if you can go to traffic school for tickets in Oregon or not but it would be worth checking out.

  3. Maybe not at all depending upon circumstances.  

    For instance, in Illinois you can ask for "supervision" if it's a first ticket.  You still have to pay the fine, but if you don't get another ticket within the period of supervision the ticket doesn't hit your driving record.   Some states allow you to take a defensive driving course before a certain period.  If you complete the course within the specified timeframe, the ticket doesn't hit your record.  

    Look around, Oregon may have several ways to keep that first ticket off your driving record.
