I just got my first week work schedule for AMC theatre, and two of my days say "on call": what does that mean?

on call means they call you to work that day if they need you.

On  Call  means  you  are  Not  on  the  schedule but

Should  someone  call  in  sick ,  they  want  to  be  able

to  reach  you  to  come  to  work  to  cover  no-shows .

Means you may have to come in if they are short staffed.  They will call you if they need you.
