  1. Correction or Change in Biographic Data.

All supporting documentation must be submitted when

you appear in person at your local ASC. If you are

applying to replace a card because of a name change, you

must bring the original court order or a certified copy of

your marriage certificate reflecting the new name when

you appear in person at the ASC. To replace a card

because of a change of any other biographic data, you

must bring copies of documentation to prove that the new data is correct.

In other words, you need to bring any copies with correct name in your green card application, ID, passport that you included.

And regarding the waiting time, nobodys knows how long it will take. One of my friends had wrong information on her green card as USCIS error; first it was wrong gender, second the first and last name swap. And she had to wait almost 8 months to fix those 2 mistakes in a row. Good luck!

  2. make an infopass appointment and take a copy of your original application as well as original supporting evidence with you and ask them to fix it.  If your original application proves the name was their mistake it shouldn't cost you anything.

  3. If you have a copy of the application you sent them, you can send that as proof that misspelling your name was their own stupid mistake... but for them to get you a new green card may take several months nonetheless unfortunately.
