I just got my lip pierced and now i'm getting really nervous...?

Is it normal to get black a blue like a bruise in the area that you just got pierced? My lower lip in the inside of my mouth is black and blue like a bruise, is that normal? It's a little swollen and of course it hurts which I expected but I was not expecting the bruise at all. Has that happened to anyone before?

It is a normal thing, though it may not happen to everyone. Mine became bruised in the same area and it went away in about a week. What happened is that a blood vessel was struck during the piercing. It is not a major problem. Infection is what you need to watch out for, so if your lip becomes severely swollen and painful, or if there is a greenish discharge, that is when you need help, but not for a bruise!

when i got mine it didnt do it at all i dont think it's normal after a couple mine got infected thats all that happen to mine
