I just got my period while still breastfeeding, is this normal?

im currently still feeding my 16 month old and this whole time have not gotten my period once, until just 3 days ago. i know its normal to get your period while your breastfeeding, but in my case of not haveing them for 16 months then all of sudden getting while still feeding? the blood is a really bright red and there has been a lot of cramping aswell, has anyone else ever experienced this? Is this normal?

I started my period when I was 2 months post partum and I nursed at all times to a very strong nurser.

It's normal, your body is just going back to normal.

Very much normal.  While many women don't see their period again until after they've stopped nursing, some end up getting it way before that.

I nursed my son exclusively til he was 18 months old.  My period came at around 5-6 months postpartum.
