do cops really care if I drive with more than 1 person in the car that is not from my household? what about hour restrictions?

New Jersey police do actually enforce those laws, and you will have your license suspended if you do get caught. They may also postpone you from getting your regular license.

If you have too many people in your car we will make them walk home it its close, otherwise we allow them to call a parent or a cab.

If you violate the hour restrictions, you will usually end up walking yourself as well as any passengers in your car.
