  1. Yes, I've never had my tongue pierced among other things, but I've heard stories from others. It generally hurts most the first few days and fresh piercings do tend to swell. Just keep suck'n on ice cubes and avoiding a lot of hot and spicy type foods. Remember to rinse your mouth after eating and twice daily with non alcoholic mouthwash.

  2. I have my tounge pierced, and yes its normal.

It will probaly look like that for about a week, and it will more than likely HURT for about 3 or 4 days.. just take tylonal, and rinse your mouth with salt water a LOT. Atleast after every meal, and every time you drink anything other than water.. try not to chew gum, or play with it for a few weeks..

  3. You most likely followed the aftercare. I don't know what kind of piercer you had. But they could have been wrong in the piercing process. They could have given you a short barbell to start off with. I would go to another piercing parlor and check with them. I would also keep up on your salt-soaks, icing a lot, and don't eat spicy foods, and rinse every time something goes in your mouth, besides water.

  4. Did the piercer provide cleaning tips? Usually oral piercings take a shorter amount of time to heal. The saliva helps heal the "wound"

If problems persists go to a doctor and get it checked out.

  5. Sounds like its Infected.... mine never did that,  i would go to a docter ASAP... good luck :)

  6. yes dont worry

i have my tongue pierced  and the pain can last up to two weeks, long after the swelling goes down

this is because, as much as it hurts, you do have to eat

eating can also be the cause of the bleeding the irrtation from chewing and the movement of food over your tongue can cause pain and in some cases bleeding

although bleeding is not that common among tongue piercings, if any irritation is caused before the tongue is fully healed blood flow is not unusual

my advice is stick to softer foods

also mouthwash helps but one of the best things you can do is a salt water gargle twice a day it will help the tongue heal faster

but make sure not to overdue the cleaning because that can prolong the healing process

    good luck!

  7. It's common, although after 3-4 days mine began healing. Just remember to use a mouth rinse frequently especially after eating.

If the irritation continues, best go back to where you got it done and have them look at it for you.

  8. and thats why we shouldnt put holes in ourselves

    not normal
