I just got my tongue pierced like 4 days ago and my gums are sore is this normal? my bottom gums?

My tongue really doesn't hurt anymore and the swelling is just about gone. I tried to go to my piecer today to ask, but because of tropical storm FAY it was closed =/

I feel for ya, I'm in florida experiencing the storm too.  Honestly I've never heard of gum pain after a piercing.  Perhaps it has more to do with the way you are resting your mouth at night--like unaware of how u hold your jaw open or closed while u are sleeping and getting used to having the tongue pierced.  Good luck trying to get a hold of them tomorrow.
