  1. No,you can not split a satellite signal.Do not use a splitter because you will possibly get searching for satellite signal. You will have to have a satellite reciever where ever you have a TV if you want service.

  2. You can, but "TV2" will have to watch the same thing as "TV1". Unless your reciver is a Dual Tuner. You might want to get another reciever.

  3. With direct TV they will put in cables to 4 differnt rooms and Dish will do 3

  4. if you are wanting a "convienence outlet" or "slave line" which plays the same thing on 2 tvs, you would need to send the out to tv signal into a rf modulator, then put a two way splitter on the outgoing cable and run it to your second tv; this technically is no longer high def though, i would also recommend getting a uhf remote extender so you can carry the remote back and forth,

if you are talking about trying to watch 2 different shows on two different tv's, only dish network has the technology, and it pretty much requires professional installation. however only one of the tuners is and hd dvr, the second room is standard definition

  5. Do you mean you want to split the signal from the DVR into two rooms? It will be fairly simple however you will always have to watch the same thing on both TV's.

Anyway, the easiest way to do this would be to hook the DVR up to the TV it is nearest with the RCA cables (yellow, red, white). For the second TV you can now use the standard cable (like the one from the wall to the "SAT IN" port). That is the easiest to run into the second room because it is one wire that carries both audio and video. Also, if you have a basement it would be fairly easy to conceal the wire.

The other option is to have DirecTV come out and wire it all for you, and give you a second satellite receiver. This will cost about $5 monthly however you can watch two different things in different rooms.
