  1. Yes, I've been a juror twice...and it is an interesting experience.  I even wrote about it: http://www.dakotacom.net/~anderson/JuryD...

The second case wasn't quite so dramatic...armed robbery of a methadone clinic.  That one taught me what a crock it is to treat drug addicts with methadone.

  2. I've been summoned a couple of times but never picked. Good luck with that.

  3. I haven't but I have been excused a few times. I had a small child & a 3rd shift job for two of the times! As long as your employer won't mind, some even still pay you! That would be nice!

  4. yah I have, I was excited to the first time.  but that faded really quickly and the chairs were really uncomfortable.  the guy was guilty but some hippie wanted to start arguing semantics and since I was the foreman I just shut him down.  all in all it wasnt to bad though I guess.

  5. I was on jury duty for a civil case.  We heard testimony one day & closing arguments the next.  We returned a verdict about an hour later.

Most cases are nothing like those that make CourtTV, or '12 Angry Men' - for that matter.

If you are chosen, be sure to keep an open mind & listen to both sides of the issue.
