I just got some new speakers to set up 5.1 in my room and the back two are oscillating?

The two rear speakers sound like they're oscillating, in that the audio is only coming through in short bursts. Is this normal?

check to see if you've got a steady signal going to them. ON the receiver or amp there should be a way to change or test the volume of each individual speaker where it sends static to the speaker to adjust the level.

On most movies, the rear speakers dont get signal all the time. Most of the time, the center and front speakers will be used to most. You will only hear the rear speakers when something in the movie requires the use of the rear speakers. So it might be normal, but i would check to make sure that you have a steady signal.
