  1. It all depends on where you are going and what time you are reporting.  If you are reporting during the duty day then you should show up in ACU's.  If you wait to report until after 1700 then you can show up in civilian clothes, turn in your orders and leave form and then the replacement will put you up in a room for the night and tell you what time your formation is the next day as well as the proper uniform.  The only thing that is really different is if you are reporting in overseas.  You will not wear your uniform on the flight so you obviously will report in civilian attire.  I always reported in after 1700, that way you don't have to put up with anything for the day.

  2. I always reported to a new unit in Class A's

  3. If you're traveling to another installation, Class A  (Dress)uniform would be appropriate to report in. If the transfer requires no travel, check w/ the receiving unit.

  4. If you are reporting to your new duty station by vehicle (POV) then wear civilian cloths enroute and change into ACU's (duty uniform) to sign in and report. If traveling by air same rules apply. However if your duty location is within the continental United States then I'd go with the ACU's because the airlines will most likey put you in first class seating for no entra charge. If traveling outside of the US then go in civilian clothes and try to keep a low profile during the flight. Also if you have any lay overs anywhere just look around the airport for the USO they usually take good care of us. Good Luck.

PS-wearing Class A's is no longer required to report.
