but I do not have the money to go. I want to be a social worker or something similar. My FAFSA has been incorrect 3+ times and I was wonderin if there is something else I should be doing to get financial aid? Thanks.

  1. You could apply for scholarships, but many will want to see your FAFSA if they are need-based (based on your family's or your income). Since you have already tried to complete your FAFSA and it has been returned, you should still have time to ammend it and complete it. There are plenty of resources on how to complete your FAFSA. You could even go to the library and see if there are any books on completing the FAFSA. From my 4 years of doing a FAFSA, I always had a copy of the past two years of my parent's income tax statements, my income tax statements since I worked part time, and all my personal information. Have one of your parents sit with you while you do the FAFSA so they can help in filling out there personal information.

It's pretty crucial that you complete the FAFSA though if you are in need of money for school. Students who came from well-off families are the only ones I ever heard of not completing the FAFSA.

Contact the schools you are interested to see if there is aid available for students who don't complete a FAFSA. You will have much more options if you do complete it.

  2. You need to be very persistent and resolve any problems you might have with correcting the FAFSA.  Did you make the corrections or did the financial aid office correct it?  Many times students make the mistake of assuming that something is wrong with the FAFSA and begin to correct it themselves.  This only delays the processing of your financial aid.  The financial aid office are the only ones who know what needs correction and they will do it themselves, if necessary.  In the end they are the ones who determine if your financial aid file is complete or incomplete.

My suggestion is to go to the financial aid office and speak with a supervisor or director, someone with a sympathic ear and explain your situation.  If you are persistent you will get help.

Ultimately, the FAFSA application is the key to all financial aid (grants, scholarship and loans.)  Without this application being processed correctly you are really out of luck.  Believe me!

So get over to the financial aid office and good luck.

  3. You can go to

    http://www.all-about-scholarship.com

    it's about scholarships information.

    Good luck

  4. Scholarships is another avenue.

Another route is to find a job that offers tuition reimbursement. That is a very hard route to take but one that many have been able to do successfully.

Why has your FAFSA been incorrect so many times? Is there anything you can do about that? Have you spoken with a financial aid counselor to see if they can help?

I'm almost finished with an MBA/Accounting. I don't think I've had a problem with FAFSA, not that I know of.

  5. Well work on the FAFSA again, and then find out what college you want to go into. You should call their financial aid offices. If you are someone who really wants to go to college, there is always a way to get you there. It might mean taking out bank loans, and working through college, but it's always possible.
