I just graduated from high school.and I would like to get into advertising and promotion. what should i do?

If you don't plan on going on to college, then it will be a bit of a grind to work your way up.  Look for junior entry positions in the office and work your way up.  If you are going on to college, take advertising, marketing, business, communications courses and try to get internships for experience during the summer semester off.

Depending on what aspect of advertising you're talking about you have a few options.  You can go for Graphic Design and design ads, go for Communications and help develop the ads, or go for Marketing and manage the advertising unit...

Obviously those are broad claims, but it gives you a better idea of what to look into.  If you want to work at a small firm I'd say go for Graphic Design, if you want to work for a large corporation I'd go for Marketing and try to get some advertising background, maybe an internship at an ad agency.
