  1. You may use every bit of those.  Don't exchange them now.  Wait until you know you won't need them, then exchange.

    Sounds like a great shower!!

My husband's guy friends threw him a "p**p and Poker Party"  Everyone antied w/ diapers and wipes (that was the idea, but you know men....they threw in money w/ the diapers).  We got TONS of diapers....used every last one.

  2. Trust me you will use them. Diapers are expensive, so I would keep them. I thought people were joking when they said I would go through that many diapers. Also you may find a certain brand works better at night and switch off. I use Huggies at night. They keep him drier and cleaner. Also I loved, loved, loved the huggies newborn diapers, because it kept the diaper off of his belly button. I have a friend who has a baby and he can only wear Pampers.

  3. THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. for my son, the newborn diapers were too big at first he was 7lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long, but within a couple days they fit him (we bought a package of premies on the way home! he wore the new borns for a couple weeks maybe 2 packages, then he was into the size one for a while, about a month or 2, he really didn't use that many diapers in one size, cause he grew very fast and he was in and out it seemed :) some he would use longer than other sizes, like 3's we stayed in quite a while! I would keep a couple packages of all of them but it seems to me that is a bit ridiculous amount of diapers!!! does anyone think you may need other things too!? !!  you'll probably end up not using a LOT of them!! but that is also nice since you won't have to buy them for a long time!! good luck!

  5. Walmart is generally pretty good about letting you exchange diapers for other sizes, even if you didn't buy them there. They'll even give you a store credit. However, they'll take your driver's license information and will only let you do this every so often. So, I'd do it all at one time.

I'd take back a pack of the newborns and a pack of the size THREES (sorry, didn't mean one) to Walmart. They'll give you a store credit and you can buy wipes and such.

EDIT: Ditto Nicole B on the difference between newborn and size one.

  6. You will need them. You'll probably buy more!

  7. That's great that you got that many diapers.  Keep them!!  Babies go through diapers like crazy......  believe me, you'll go through them.  Good luck!

  8. You will need them. Trust me, do not get rid of them!

  9. keep them. all of them.  you may have some left over stage 2's but not many:)  you will need all of these.

  10. Same thing here.  I have enough diapers to last me till he is atleast 6 months.  The babay will remain in the mid size and large sizes for a long time becasue they will grow up and slim down at te same time.  The new born size only lasted me one or two days because he gained back his birth weight and he was too big for newborn,  It took him three weeks to grow out of the size one.  He is in size two now and I have to take back and exchange all the smaller diapers which were the most.  Everyone thinks they need to get you NP items.  My son can no longer wear any of his new born clothes either and he only wore onsies and the real clothes went to waste.  The shoes just sat on the dressor.  When I went to the store, I was so grateful everyone bought me diapers, because they cost at least 10 to 15 dollars a pack.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

  11. Chances are you will use all them...

  12. well first off congrats baby to be. secondly make sure you thank EVERYONE who gave ya diapers.

I would keep all the newborns (cuz as a new mom and a first timer your gonna change the diaper every 10 seconds cuz you don't want em in wet diapers)  but i would definitely go ahead and trade in the size two diapers and variety packs. my second son grew right out of newborn diapers by the time he was 4 months and went right into size 1 and stayed in those for a while but he never wore size three he just went from 2 to 4. then again kids are all different beside i thinkyou have more than enough diapers for the first year of your child's life.

  13. You'll use them, trust me. I got about 3,000 diapers in all different sizes when I had my baby shower. I haven't used all of them yet, because my baby is only 3 months old, but I've had to buy about one pack of the newnborn.

  14. I would keep them all but the size 3 and the mix packs take them back and get wipes and butt cream. You will use all or most of the smaller sizes it is amazing how many times a day you change a diaper!

  15. You can never have too many diapers! It is insane how many you use. I would say you will use AT LEAST 400 in every size. The higher the size the longer you will use them because babies grow more slowly as they get older. The only size you might not go through is the newborns. My son grew out of those very quickly and your right it will vary depending on the size of your baby. And how many you use a day will also vary by baby. My son pooped way less than the average, and it was hard to tell sometimes when he would pee because it didn't bother him. So it depends, but regardless, I still think your pretty safe keeping them.

  16. what I did is save them and then when I realized that I wouldnt be using them I took them to wal-mart or a place that sells that type of diaper and get my money, or store credit back to but wipes or something. Btw that is a TON of diapers, you lucky goose you lol. If you havent I would suggest getting the umbolical cord sensative diapers for when they are first born, its up to you, but its safe to say you are set on diapers for a while lol.

  17. you will use them all, and still have to buy some!

  18. Trust me, there's no such thing as too many nappies...

  19. Well my son was born at 8 lbs 5 oz...so not too small.  When he wore size N and size 1, he went through about 10 diapers a day.  So that gives you about 20 days of newborn and about 40 days of size 1.  I'd say you'll use all the newborns, you may have a few size 1's left over.  I think my son was in size 2's by the time he was 2 months and 12.5 lbs (even though they claim to fit up to 14 lbs, he started leaking before then...I think the weights are always off a little).  He's almost 5 months old now and still wears size 2's...so that's 3 months in size 2.  We'll be moving to the pampers size 2-3 after we finish the last ~50 size 2 diapers.  He poops a lot less now and doesn't get his diaper changed at night so we're now using about 6-8 diapers a day.  So that gives you 2.5-3.5 months of size 2 (about right I'd say).  And I don't know about size 3 yet.

So, in general, you may be left with some size 1's unless you have a tiny baby.  Just open a pack at a time and donate the leftovers (to a church or daycare), regift them, or save for another baby.  But other than that, I'd keep all the diapers.  Hope this helps.

  20. Not sure what you're asking, but congrats!! I was given alot of diapers at my baby shower and i was happy! LOL We may not have used them all, but hey they lasted.  It seems like you will have plenty to last you. The newborn ones the baby will probably grow out of really quickly. What I would do is keep most of them, maybe return some of the newborn and get store credit for the other things you need. Definitely keep the other sizes b/c you will be surprised at how fast the baby grows in and out of them. But anyway- Congrats!!

  21. babies go through  alot of diapers it will help save you money if you keep them

  22. trust me you will use all of them. don't trade them in for store credit because you will just have to buy them again later anyway.

  23. Keep them and dont open them. If they go unused then exchange them for a larger size. If you really need wipes you could probably return 100 of the newborn diapers. You most likely wont need that many newborn diapers since baby will grow so fast. We only used 1 pack of newborn diapers with each of our girls and then we used size 1. There isnt that much of a size difference between newborn and 1 anyway.

  24. I AGREE

  25. You will need them.  Odds are you will still end up buying more diapers.  Babies and toddlers use a lot of diapers.

  26. Hi! I had my little boy three weeks ago and I had NO CLUE how many diapers we would need and what size either! He ended up weighing 7 Lbs 1 oz and he was in newborn diapers...he is now 9 lbs and he still fits comfortably in newborn size but he also can fit in size one as well, they are just a little big...my advice would be to keep them, we went through literally 180 diapers in under two weeks! ( he was breastfed so he peed and pooped after every feeding) You could always take back some of the bigger sized diapers and get other things you need but I would keep the newborn and the size ones at least. Congratulations on your new baby!

  27. i dont think you will need the newborn. you may you some of them but not 200. my son was in size 1 up until 2 months. then i changed to size 2. and he is almost 4 months. but i def. do not think you will use the newborn. i never used them. my son was 8lbs 15oz. keep them and just exchange them as needed.

  28. trust me you will use them

  29. Trust me, you will go through them, then some :)

Babies go through ALOT of nappies!! Your very lucky to have been given so many.

I only got a 36 pack, and that didn't last very long at all :)

  30. I would say hang on to all of them for now. I have 3 kids and you'd be surprised the amount of diapers you will go through! Good luck with the baby!

  31. Girl you will use every diaper I guarantee you! Keep them all.
