Is that normal? Is it because the numbness is wearing down? Should i take an antibiotic?

  1. Yes, my mouth was sore after my root canal, but if it continues consult your dentist. Antibiotics are for infections,

if you think you have an infection you definitely need to call your dentist.

  2. i had 3 root canals for my incisors. yes it is normal, because the anaesthesia is wearing down. your mouth will feel very sore later

antibiotic is useless for pain. u need ananalgesic. i would suggest a tablet of diclofenac. its very effective

  3. That is normal.. Root canals are fairly rough procedures so you should feel a little pain. If it continues though, contact your dentist for a pain killer and antibiotic.

  4. Yes, it is normal to feel pain.  I had a root canal a few months ago and my mouth was sore for a while.  I don't think you will need antibiotics unless the dentist said you had an infection.  If it is still bothering you in a few days, call the dentist and let him know.  Good luck:))
