I just had my betta die of unknown causes. I need to know how I can safely and properly clean and disinfect ?

my aquarium so that I can start to cycle it again and add new fish without worrying about them getting sick. I know I will have to buy a new filter. But I have gravel and a silk plant. What is the safest method and the most effective?

Just rinse it out well and refill. Use a water conditioner too. Change all the water in it every week. You can wipe the inside with a paper towel if you need to remove algae. Keep it in a location away from windows and other strong light sources. Along with growing too much algae, the water can get too hot if sun hits
