well the receptionist asked me if i drove i said learning so she put an L on my form but when i went in my optitan said everything was fine the he asked me to read a card and asked the mallest writing i could read and the line was 20/20 what does this mean has he tested me for the driving sight requirments please help

  1. No, you have to take a quick eye test at the DMV when you go to get your license.


  2. He has tested your what is known as your Best Corrected Visual Acuity, ie: what level of vision can you attain with the right correction (glasses/contact lens etc). While you haven't been expressly tested for the Driving Standard, your vision falls well within the limits - you need to achieve a BCVA of 6/9 binocularly to drive. At this point you see 6/6 so you should have no problems. Best Corrected Visual Acuity will not change as your prescription does unless the eye is damaged in some way.
