I'm a former Dish Network employee so I have a meter that I used to help him point his Direct Tv Dish that lost signal after possibly getting hit by a volleyball. After making the neck plum and level, I adjusted the dish to the correct settings, and received strong signal after moving it side to side. I was using the line coming from the receiver to power my meter cuz my battery is bad. Anyways, all the channels come in with my meter in the line but as soon as I remove my meter the CNN channel loses signal with all the other channels working. I'm thinking that its something electrical in the LNBF and somehow my meter is filling the void. Anyone ever here of anything like this?

  1. Check the transponders on the recivers meter. If the odds are low it's probably the LNB.If not it's probably the P.O.S. reciver.Try putting another box on that line,if it works you'll know it's the reciever. I'm an install tech for DTV 5 years now.
