  1. Yes the driver must have been deleted or is invalid.

You have to find a program/driver that will allow you to use your speakers. Maybe you could download something like "realtek"

or just enter the name of your speakers in google and see what you get

eg: Logitech 8500 speaker drivers" etc.

  2. Update your drivers.

  3. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers. If that doesn't work, post some more details and I'll see what I can find out.

  4. you just got burned by bill gates!hahahahahaha

  5. when i got my vista pc, with viewsonic, my speakers didn't work.  i had to go into the properties section of sound, and find out what type of speakers i had.  then i went and found realteck, in there and had to enable the speakers.

they're in there, just keep looking for it.

  6. tell me about it! this is a constant problem with HP laptops, the sound driver conflicts with Vista, if you go the sound driver in your control panel, i bet it says there is no driver installed. the same has happened to me, HP's response was to tell me to either, install the sound driver every time i rebooted the laptop (as after a reboot the sound drive would delete itself again) or restore to factory settings, which i did, and it fixed the problem, but not the whole laptop is running really really slow!

HP laptops are rubbish, do you have any other problems with yours? e-mail me!! my webcam hardley ever works, and the laptop turns itself on at night for no reason! so annoying.

i have the dv6866 somthing or other entertainment edition

  7. Sell you PC and buy a MAC!!!!!!!!

  8. ahah

  9. my computer does this sometimes too, HP will often download a new sound driver which either doesnt install correctly or isnt actually suited for your sound card, go to Control Panel-->System-->Device Manager (its in the upper left) and it will bring up a list of devices on your computer. Find your sound card driver, double click on it then under the software or driver tab click on roll back driver, your computer will restart and then you should have sound again

  10. check sound card in BIOS. or get a driver for the sound card.
