My 90 Lincoln Towncar got broken into and they stole my cd player. They didnt cut any wires. All the speakers wires go to the front of a small rectangular black box, from the back of this box, one grey cable goes out to the speakers.

Well, I installed a new stereo but cant hear any sound. It comes on but no sound at all.

Thank you...

  1. The gray cable's not going to your speakers. It's going to a factory amplifier, probably located in the trunk.  You'll need to make sure the amplifier's activation wire in the stock harness (located at one end of the large gray plug) is connected to the remote output (blue/white or blue) on your new head unit.  If that doesn't work, you may need to bypass your factory amp.
