  1. make sure you are conditioned.

  2. http://www.armybasic.org/portal/index.ph...

try to ramp yourself up to make the entry requireirements

pushups is 42 (two minute test), situps is 53 (two minute test), and the 2 mile run is 15:54.

  3. exercise alot and study your knowledge. get familiar with rank structure

  4. My husband said to go to warrant officer school as soon as you get out of AIT. He says that he wishes that he had done that when he first got in the army, it would have made his military career so much easier. As far as basic training goes, he said it gets easier after two weeks, the drill seargents are just yelling at you because they have to.

  5. the only advice that ive LIVED OFF for all my life is

"dont die" if u can make it then you should be happy but ONE THING THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW! IS DONT DIE!

keep yourself alive theres nuthin more important than that

    - afeni shakur (tupac's mom)

  6. Don't be first, don't be last, and don't volunteer. If your DS don't know your name by the end of basic then u did good.

    Don't ride sick call.

Don't sweat the drama. it is going to be like HS

    Always have a battle buddy.

  7. Stay strong. Don't ever let anything get you down. Remember why you joined and never forget it, no matter how tough things get. Think of everyone you're doing this for when you start to get homesick/lonely.

  8. exercise.

  9. If you are in shape before you go to basic training it will make your life a little less miserable. Any amount of conditioning you can get in prior to going will help.

Remember to always do EXACTLY what the drill Sargent tells you...no more...and no less.

If you are a female, extra pairs of white cotton underwear and white sports bra's are a good thing to take with you. Extra pairs of white socks are good for males and females. Take a black sharpie marker with you and put your name some where indiscreet on EVERY THING! You'll be surprised to see how many people will steal something from some one else if they loose something they are supposed to have.

Take a phone card, and lots of letter writing materials (paper, envelopes, pens and pencils, and stamps) You may not get a chance to call any one for a long time, but you are always allowed to write.

Always keep in mind, no matter how bad things seem to get, it can only get better. Basic training is a test to see how much you can handle. Also no matter what task they are making you do, you are still getting payed! Most people have to pay a lot of money for gym memberships, eating meals that other people fix for them, rent for an apartment along with all the other bills(water, electricity, ect.), and most people will never get to fire all the cool wepons that you will get trained on during basic training! It's all what you make of it. I personally made a lot of friends, and had a blast!

  10. Exercise.

    Don't back talk!!!!!!!

    Don't show off.

When your instructor tells you to do something, do it with no questions asked.

Sarcasm does not belong in the Army.

The best thing to learn before going in is to learn that the greatest thing you can do is to unlearn EVERYTHING. They will teach you how to get dressed, eat, sleep etc.

Just learn to STOP THINKING. Thinking will only get you into trouble. You are like a machine. When he says do something do it, don't think, don't ask questions, just do it. chinking for yourself is very bad in basics lol.

  11. just enjoy the ride. it will suck, you will hurt, puke, bleed, and you will make some great friends, laugh your a** off, and learn your stronger than you ever thought. Good Luck, Have Fun, and Thank You.
