I just love brummie and west country accents its ashame that kids now dont think it cool to talk like that?

I am from Guildford but moved to Birmingham when I got married, my 8 year old son and 14 year old daughter both have brummie accents which I love, but my daughter seems to be picking up this "ghetto speech" ( which I hate) but in a brummie accent.

I agree. Even kid's here in Cornwall have adopted that awful Ghetto lingo, and it really is a shame that local accents are dying out, to make way for the latest lingo. It's O.K. on a Black Kid, but it makes me cringe when I hear it coming  from  White kid's who "wannabe" Stay proud of your local accent, you're right it IS dying, and you're a good lad to want to keep it alive. I'm also proud of my Brummie accent, and my Grandchildren will adopt the "street lingo" OVER MY DEAD BODY!!!
