I don't quite understand what it is. How do I get friends on it? Wow, I am technologically impaired.

  1. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/

  2. It's one of Yahoo's free services that involves social networking and combines many Yahoo! services into one area.  It stays dormant until you activate it. Check out an old press release that explains "What is Yahoo! 360?": http://docs.yahoo.com/docs/pr/release122... . Many people are using 360 now to find and meet new people.

Please read the following resources thoroughly and try some things out:

    - IMPORTANT!: Thoroughly read the 360 COMMUNITY GUIDELINES at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui...

    - HELP Pages: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/

    - For MORE TIPS see some of my previous answers on various Y!360 & Y/A subjects by clicking on my avatar and scrolling down to click on my "Starred Questions" tab. Also, my 360 space blog (http://blog.360.yahoo.com/kee_y360 ) has tips in the tag cloud - "360tips" "music" " "vids" and on the right under highlighted posts.

    - For IDEAS you can check out other 360 pages by clicking on your "Search" link at the top of 360 or by going to http://360.yahoo.com/search.html

    - The 360 team blog at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 has many helpful links on the right side to help with setting up a 360 space and using other services with it.

NOTE: Some features are not available to users under age 18 for safety reasons.

    As far as INVITATIONS go:

    - Either use the "Invite" page and follow the instructions here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/fri... . This feature is MAINLY for inviting people who are already in your Yahoo! Mail address book OR your Yahoo! Messenger buddy list.

    - Or go to a friend's page and click the "Add" link under their personal profile picture and make sure to check the "Invite As a Friend" box before sending the invitation.

    - Or you may also see 360 invitation-related links in other Yahoo services, like Yahoo! Groups.

In all cases, the person needs to go to their 360 mailbox and ACCEPT the invitation so that they show up in your contact list, friends list, and friends module.

At the top of your 360 space is a "Search" link. You can find blogs that skew toward what you're looking for there. You can search for people via nickname, keywords, and location. You can search by real name and e-mail addresses only if the person has enabled that option. That page and also your "Home" page lists "Interesting Pages" as well.

Also, click on the Answers categories on the left and go to those sections that interest you. Scope out people answering questions on those topics, then click on their avatar and check out 360 profile, if they have it listed.

If you find anyone you like (anywhere), then click on the "Add" link under their picture on their 360 page and add them as a "Favorite". You can always take them off your Favorites list (which is private) later. Send them a message and/or leave a comment (if allowed), introduce yourself, get a conversation going, and then see if they want to add you as well (to be fully connected as a friend).

You can do the same by joining Yahoo! Groups. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com , to see where you might want to meet new people. A group to check out is the Y-360 Friends group at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Y-360... .

Also, make sure to check out the "friends" of any new friends that you make. They may be cool to invite too.
