  1. Cats, as a rule, don't like change. Mine have hidden for up to three days after moves, and come out none the worse. Give your kitty time, but in the meanwhile don't fuss over him- Just cuddle him when he wants.

    Good luck!

  2. he is probably just settling in to his new surroundings  give him a few days and i am sure he will be fine

  3. I have a cat too and if i was on your shoes i would spend allot of time with the cat and give him / her all the attention it desires and get her lots of toys and treats so you can play with her. Also take her around all the rooms in the house to get used to it and get her comfy in all of them, let her have a wonder around.

  4. throw him out of the window.

  5. Oh get a life! A depressed cat? Do you not have bigger things to worry about!! Give him a few days to get used to the new environment and he'll be fine. For God's sake girl, if thats all you have to worry about in life then how will you ever cope with major issues you're going to have to face?!!!

  6. Kitty prozac? Jk. Your cat could be depressed for many reasons. If you had to leave something behind that he/she grew attached to then that could be one reason. Maybe it just doesn't like leaving the safety and comfort of the house it was used to. Could just be the environment of the new household as well. I'm pretty sure your cat just needs to get used to the move and needs you to show it that it can be comfortable in the new house. Try to make it as stress-free around the house as possible as your kitty gets used to its surroundings. Or maybe spend more time with him/her and take his/her mind off of whatever is on his/her mind with some games (if your cat enjoys playing) or just some snuggle time ^_^ If there was something your cat really grew attached to (ie. a favorite toy or a well-loved bed/sleeping area) then he/she could be missing that and causing the depression. I know it's hard when a beloved pet seems to be hurting. If nothing else works, then maybe it's a medical problem and not an emotional problem. I wouldn't worry unless your cat stops eating and just kinda mopes around all day. Best wishes and best of luck to you and your cat.

  7. I am very sorry you are going through this and can not believe the insensitive answers some people gave you at first!!!     Do not let it get to you.

Cat's are are VERY in tune with those they are close to.  It is probably feeling some of your sadness or new feelings about the changes that you have had to make as well.   Thankfully you got to bring him with you  :)

I would just spend as much time with him as you can.  Play with him, talk to him and love him. It may take some time for both of you but it should work out.  Just be sure he is eating, drinking, has normal stools and urine.  If he should start to lose weight, let the vet know because the stress can lead to other medical issues if left untreated.

I wish you both all the luck in the world and much success on your new start. xox

  8. let him play around in your grandmas garden so that he can get used to it!!

  9. she may not be depressed. she probably feels a little uncomfortable with the new area around her in the house. she may not feel like she is at home and is having a hard time getting used to it. getting used to it may take a few days or maybe even a week. well first she has to check out the place and put her smell on everything she possible can. once she does that she will be fine. and for you, don't be depressed this is normal for a cat who has been takin away from her teritory. she will be back to the normal loving cat she always was.
