Hong Kong?  Got pets or kids?  If not, just grab some chlordane and some malathion, mix it up, put it in a sprayer, and go to town.  Might wanna get a hotel room for a few days.

Go buy paster of paris and mix it with sugar as a bait.  The roaches will come out at night and eat the bait and they'll drop dead.  This works better than spraying chemicals or the expensive baits in the store.  I got a lot of points by sharing this with others and I hope it'll work for you.  Be careful that you don't have young kids or pets that may eat the bait!

Baits are good, but you really need to remove any food source. Clean, clean and put all food in metal or plastic containers in order to prevent a reinfection.

I have a problem with beetles. I have used boric acid When using please make sure your room is ventalated and cover mouth and nose when using , It causes a nasty sore throat if you don't. You may need to use a few times, These pest live everywhere in holes and eat everything.When using go round the edges of your home bottom of cupboards,behind bath panals with the stuff and repeat every 2 weeks till home is clear. YOU CANNOT GET RID OF THEM FIRST TIME

ROUND. It took me 4 months to get rid of beetles and there dreaded larve. By edges I mean round skirting boards leave do not vacumm them for at least 2 weeks at a time hoover everywhere else but where you put the boric acid down. Under kitchen appliances keep boric acid down all the time keep the little buggers away once and for all.

Never use sugar water you only attract more and other nasty bugs as well
