I just moved out of a rental house. Do i still have to pay the last months rent?

He never fixed anything i told him was broken. I had to patch holes where rats where coming and also put in a new thermostat and also one of the windows had a big crack int that was never fixed. i signed a rental agreement for one year but i never signed for a renewal. i didnt get an eviction notice so should i pay the last monts rent?

  1. Yes, of course.   If you did not give a 30 day notice and moved out today you owe through September.   If you gave notice by July 1 you only owe for August.


  2. Whatever issues you had are not a legal reason to not pay the last months rent.

    You should have dealt with the issues per your states landlord tenants laws. Sent certified letters requesting repairs, etc.

  4. If you never signed a renewal I would not think so, I just hope you took some pictures and every time you talked to him,  maybe he will let you pay portion of it since he never fixed anything ( you do not want him messing with your credit report)
