Im doing the 100m race tommorow at school and i really want some support, and im really nervous about it. I need to be relaxed, i need to be confident i need to give it my best!!!!!!For i can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... yeah!!! :D

Any tips on how to be relaxed confident. Also i was told to eat a bannana before i race because of its natural sugurs. Ok i will be when should i? How long do i need to wait for its "magic"

Sometimes when i run, i sometimes enter this zone, and when im in this zone i feel as if i can run the fastest and as long as i want, does anyone know how to enter this zone im on about?

  1. Just chillax...I am in the military and I am actually taking my annual fitness assessment tomorrow...that includes running. The banana is for potassium, not sugars....and if i were you i'd eat it a least 45 mins before you have to run....and eat some after. They aren't magic, they just keep you from cramping up. The "zone" you speak of is rhythm....just run, breath steady, and you'll find it. Good luck to you.

I have to run 2000m and the only person I'm racing is myself....

  2. The best thing you can eat is protein(lean meat/eggs, if you can't eat some nuts cashews and almonds) at least 2hrs+ before your race, drinks lots of water(stay hydrated)

Get a good warm up before your race by jogging at least 400M, do some dynamic stretching(moving/swinging/bouncing) to get the muscles ready for action

After your warm up at least 10-15 mins away rom your race start

Close your eyes, clear your mind and maintain deep rhythmical breathing, in through your nose and out through your mouth

Imagine a previous race win, see yourself crossing the line in first place and recreate those emotional feelings of success

Return your focus to the sprint start, think of blasting off on the 'B' of the bang with the appropriate limb action

  3. 100metres - 15 seconds (ish)

close your eyes, breath steadily, don't think about anything except the finish line, look forward-------- thats it - race over!!

Bananas and other fruits will not do anything for a one-off race, but as a balanced diet for athletes who intend to do this regularly (consult a dietician)

Just concentrate, do not get distracted by people around you, do not answer anyone next to you who may try to put you off, just focus on the job and give it your best shot!!

Just remember, don't forget to listen for the starters orders!! Good luck mate

  4. I get nervous before I do things too. Im sure you will be fine. Get a good nights sleep and eat healthy!

  5. I've never heard of "banana's magic abilities" but if i was going to eat before a race it would be at least an hour before it so it's   at least a bit digested.  You need to digest it to absorb any types of nutrients it will give you.

To relax before my races i listen to music.  For my warm up i run some laps about an hour before my race, like a half mile at a comfortable pace.  After that i stretch and just relax.  After stretching i find somewhere in the shade to lay down and stay cool.  Then about 10 minutes before the race i get up and do a few, 1 or 2 sprints.  This gets your blood flowing and your heart rate up.

The only other thing is to remember to drink some water before your race.

    Good luck

    You'll do great

  6. It's okay to get last place..... no pressure, just run as hard as you can.

  7. just think that your are going to win and be positive and do your best
