  1. I found a helpful guide on nurseries here on ebay.

  2. I am assuming that you have already gotten the word out that you are open, and it may be, as Lizzie suggested, that people who have already found daycare or preschool aren't looking for a change right now.

So, you need to offer something that the run-of-the-mill place is not offering, at a price that is really affordable.  Then, when many people want your services, you can charge more.  I would offer something like gymnastics or dance instruction, or art classes or cooking or hiking or science exploration or anything that parents will say to themselves, "I want my children to learn that, and I am not able (or don't have time) to teach it."

Then advertise everywhere you can that is free, since you are trying to do this to earn a living.  Make sure your advertisement is beautiful, inviting and professional looking.  Put up notices on telephone poles where it is legal, on grocery bulletin boards, on bulletin boards at the doctor's office and dentist's office, if allowed.  There are lots of places.  I wish you lots of success.

  3. Is this a franchise school or nursery school ? Iam myself a nursery teacher.

The best thing is have your school adv. in the websites and newspaper.

Local newspaper in Marathi would be the best and also in the newspaper.

Give a wonderful adv. in the newspaper. Also distribute pamplets in the newspapers. Contact your daily newspaper person and give him your school's pamplets . Remember to have it presented in a proper way with contact nos. and email address.

Iam surprised since school business are doing great job.

Well Iam also looking for the job and I know what it means to be a struggler.

Be confident. Spread the word too around your locality.

  4. do you have schooling? where are you advertising... try going to some playgroups and such in your area... If you have the credentials make sure to mention them in your advertising... even a business such as nursery school or daycare take a while to establish clientel , because trusting someone with your children is very important.

Once your name gets out there you will be soooo busy you don't know what to do...  Word of mouth is the BEST advertising you can get.

    Good luck !!

  5. It's all about advertising! You need to go to the local stores and put up signs that have little tabs that people can pull off so people can call.

An open house would always help. Put an add in the local newspaper.

    Good luck!

  6. Advertisement and lots of socializing from you. Your nursery must also meet the people's standard of a nursery and it must have an appealing environment.

  7. You must advertise!!!  Put a nice ad in the local newspaper. Have a brightly painted sign out in front with your name on it. Also saying that you have room for newcomers.  In your ad include what ages you accept, hours that you take kids in, if you serve lunch, snacks etc., Play areas or any specialty you may have to offer. Hand out fliers at a local store as people come out, or put them on cars under the windshield wipers. You just need to get 1 person in there and then things will start to happen.  Put up some balloons out front of the place and have an open house. Invite all your friends to tell their friends to come. When people see other cars there they will want to see what is going on. Serve some punch and cookies.  Do a mailing. As a last resort try this as it could get expensive mailing many out. Give out your name and number at the local schools.  Post your specifics on the bulletin board at your supermarket.  These ideas should help some. Good Luck.

  8. When you say nursery school, what do you mean? Is this like a pre-school or a day care? or, is it an actual school?

I ask this because, if you are in the U.S., the school year is nearing an end.  Very few, if any, parents will pull their kids out of school so near the end of the school year.

If you are doing a day-care business, or pre-school, and it's year-round, you need to do some advertising.

What advertising have you done so far? Have you advertised at pediatricians' offices? Maybe put out some fliers or brochures?  You can also do that in places where young children gravitate- like Babies R Us or something like that.

If you can, maybe advertise  in church bulletins. My church has a page of sponsors on the back. You can put your "ad" in the local church bulletins.

Advertise in local papers as well.

Another suggestion would be ask the children's librarians at your local public libraries to put out the word about your nursery school.  If they put out a newsletter, you may want to get in on it. Once you start to get students, invite the librarian over for story time.

Have an open house.  Invite local parents. This may be tricky. Some companies may not want to give out that type of information.  If you are familiar with the neighborhoods around your nursery, you may be able to canvass the neighborhoods with your fliers.  Then, when they come for the open house, be sure to show them around and maybe have some 'door prizes.'  Something simple like small toys and toiletries.

    Good luck.
