  1. I had to read your statement a couple times before I could get the "jist" of it. In other words, you second guessed yourself way too much, and you became your own worst enemy. I do that too on those rules tests. I read way too much in to the question - to the point where I miss the point. If that makes sense. Fortunately, the General Manager on the railroad I work for is a really great guy. Since we all always have our rule books with us, his greatest concern is knowing where to find the answer in the books that we have, if a delema comes up. And of course, we do. I know the rules and rarely have any concerns while on the trains, as to proper proceedures. But when I'm faced with a written test, I too become my own worst enemy. I know the rules, I know what the FRA demands, I'm safe, and never had a violation. But taking those tests is like a whole different world for me.

  2. Derail is right on the money.

"KISS"  =  Keep It Simple, Stupid.  Many people don't do well on exams yet, as was pointed out, they can function perfectly well.

But, by the nature of your question, you were unsure, that hesitancy being the point.  You need more study my friend and you'll have to get it on your own, for the most part.

Ask questions of trainers or superiors.  The only stUPid question is the one you don't ask...

  3. So, Whats your Question???????????????????

  4. I pass the test several times, it's not that hard if you use common  sense

  5. Congratulations!

Pat your self on the back for being consistent and working towards, and now completing your goal.

    What's next?

  6. I got 3 more rules classes and 2 re-certs and I get to retire, yay for me! :-)

I'm not worried about passing, it is just a pain in the rump is all.

I have never seen provisions for common sense in the rule books or special instructions LOL

Cant tell you how many times I have changed a question to the WRONG answer, I had a rulse examiner tell me once, if you dont know, always go with your first impression, never second guess yourself.
