I just plugged my camera into the computer with a usb cord. but its not doing anything what should i do?

  1. I don't trust the cables, or the small connectors on the cameras

    Spend $10-15 and get a multi card reader.

    You can use that to download the photos,

    You won't run your batteries down,

    you can keep on shooting, if you have a 2nd card.

    You can use it to download your cards on your friends computers.

    You can download your friends cards on your computer.

    You can use it on your next camera, too

    You won't have to worry about the cables

    You won't have to worry about the computers software.


  2. You camera should have come with software (a cd) - you probably need to install that first. Or if it doesn't have a cd, you can google most camera brands/model numbers and find the software for free online.

  3. Install the software that come with your camera, it should work.

    if still not, try other USB cable or make sure your USB is working on your PC.  (having a USB plug on your PC doesn't necessary mean it's working, if u plu a memory stick in and it's works, that USB port should be ok)
