I just pulled out unopened ground beef that says sell by 6-02-08. is it safe to eat?

you definitely should not eat it. meat goes bad within at least one week after the expiration date if it is in the freezer. if you eat it anytime after then it would not only taste bad but it would have freezer burn. Please don't eat it you might get sick.

If it was pulled out of the freezer, yes.  If out of the fridge, no.

If it has been kept frozen then it should be okay,  but if it has not been frozen then it is better to throw it out.
