By the simple fact that you have asked this question, leads me to think you DONT have an R1, however, the above poster nailed it.

Get some advanced riding lessons.

Try Kieth Code, the man made Rainey.

If you think you are too good for that, lend me a 600cc Gixer and I will prove you wrong !

ur bike itself is capable of over 170 mph. you need to focuse of the riding postions as stated above. take a class during a track day. get exhaust pc3 and air filter. that shoudl give ya around 10-20hp. but u really dont need it. if ur worried about fast rather then quick you should of got a zx14. also check some sprokets. go up in the back and down in the front and it will increase torque and acc. or vise versa for top speed.

Why don't you spend your money on an advanced riding class? Check out some track schools.  Upgrade yourself and that bike will get quicker when you smoke your friends around the esses.
