I just purchased a Sony Blu-Ray and when I power up the unit it takes 3 to 4 min. to power on?

  1. Do you mean power on or boot up. The reason it would take so long to boot up is due to the encryption technology in the hardware itself. The system has to check everything on bootup from chips to bus to the disc in order to make sure everything is copyprotected. Thanks Sony and MPAA for helping us enjoy our technology.
