I went in and handed the manager my application and she talked right then and there about a few things. It seemed she really liked my application, then she said "I dont have anything available now, but keep in touch"

what should I expect now? and how would I "keep in touch"? whats that mean?

  1. I would return occasionally to see if anything is available.  If she seemed interested then she is at least considering your application.

  2. Maybe she was just giving you a little information about the company. Unless she actually told you that was an interview, then maybe it wasn't an actual interview. Also after she talked with you, maybe she decided you were not what the company needed at the time, you could have been overly or under qualified for the position.

  3. Its the same as when someone says

    "its not you, its me"

    or

    "i'll call you"

    it aint good.

  4. the best thing to do is call or go in about once a week, ask to speak to the manager, and just say "i just wanted to make sure you still have my application and if there was any openings yet?" that way they will know you really want the job and you are persistent. you might even want to get a LITTLE BIT annoying, my uncle is a manager and he said he likes to know who wants/needs the job more. its better to go in, and if you do, remember to dress up as if you were going in for an interview because they MIGHT interview you that day. good luck
