So I just got a kitten from a friend recently, looked completely healthy.

Then I noticed his tummy was alittle bloated, I ignored it at first (stupid me) I thought it was just from him not eating much...

One day he threw up, but it was not just normal.

A few giant ring worms were in it, I'm pretty worried due to the fact that

I have 2 other cats, so I got the meds asap.

I put some in her mouth, and kept her in my room while i was asleep just in case she did it again no other cats would get into it.

when I got up there must of been atleast 6 piles of round worms in my room.

I'm wondering if her vomiting Round Worms is good after I gave her the meds? is that how it's cured? and how can I know it's taking affect ?

  1. its probably good that shes puking them all up. thats what usually happens. it sounds like she has a lot of them though, poor baby : [

also what she has is not ring worm. ring worm is a fungal skin disease. round worms is what she has.

  2. Ring worm is a fungal problem, so you probably mean round worms.  Kittens often have worms, as they get it through the milk from their mother.  And she gets it either from the prey she eats, or mosquito bites.

Hopefully, you got medication from a vet, as the type you get in stores is almost worthless.  One dose of Dontral kills almost all types of worms that your kitten could have.

Diagnosis is through a flotation examination of a f***s sample.  The vet looks for evidence of eggs.

It is important to treat all cats that may have access to the litter box your kitten used, as that is a means to spread the worms.

While you got the kitten from a friend, and he looked healthy, a trip to the vet is really the only way to know for sure.  In addition, he will need vaccinations and hopefully you will have him neutered in several more months.

  3. It's round worms, not ring worm.  Ring worm is a fungus of the skin.

I would take her to the vet and have a complete check up, sounds like she has quite a case of round worms and she may need extra care to build up her weight and strength.

    Good Luck!

  4. ringworms? i think you meant roundworms. and yes she will throw them up and p**p them out.
