  1. no. did you sign a contract of employment? sometimes managers have to do that. if you did and there is a clause stating you are responsible for shortages you might be required to pay, but they still have to give you the check.

  2. no if you dont claim the check someone from coperte will come looking 4 u at the next audit if they cant find u they have to turn the  $ over to the state and they try to find u and after like 10 years it becomes state property

  3. Yeah what she said.

  4. No, if it has your name on it, it belongs to you, they have absolutely no right to try and keep it.

  5. for a company waffle house as a condition of employment you sign a agreement letting them take shortages out of your check.

however there are some rule for instance they can only take bonus money not salary which is why they are so bonus heavy       on there pay plan. so yes they can but have some rule and restrictions you really should have been there to count it and made sure it was right

  6. They can deduct what is short. Were you there for the inventory? They need to provide in writing the last time inventoried and if there were discrepancies then, and also a copy of the report now.  They can also sue you if it is more than paycheck.....or file police charge against you.  Most of time they do not do, but some places will. Talk to corporate about this issue now, before it goes any further. They can help you. If not, speak to an employment solicitor.

  7. No, that's illegal in every state on the United States. EVERY BUSINESS MUST PROVIDE THEIR PREVIOUS EMPLOYEES WITH ALL WAGES EARNED.

  8. the only way they can do that is if lets say your drew came up 200 short then they can ask you let us take the money from  your check and we wont call the cops and you cant be on regester for a while

  9. I believe they can deduct the amount of the shortage from your check. However, you should have been present for the commisary audit. Just like when you take days off, that policy is in place so that there is no discrepency between the person responsible for the audit and the manager. But WH policy has always been to hold the manager in charge responsible for the food (that is why it stays locked up & you are the only one with keys).
