I just read in a German newspaper there was an arrest for illegal weapons...?

What would the typical German penalties for having a number of unlicensed weapons in your possession cost you in jail time and fines? I know in the states it's pretty stiff in some places.

having a gun without a liscense= go to jail for at least 2 years

Not under 2 years, there may be probation if it's a first offence.
