cause it violated a rule of being well groomed. The thing about it is it was a freshly cut mohawk wich mean it had to have been well groomed. Even if it wasn't what right does the school have to have any student cut their hair? im black and dealt with the same issues in the 90's over my braids, wich now are a common thing, so i know how it is. tell me what u think?

  1. His parents are the ones who caused this furor, and they should answer for it.

  2. There is something called respect of others. In this day and age in the name of our rights we think we can pretty much do anything we please because it is our right, our head, our body and so on. I disagree. When you live in society you abide by the laws and the rules that try to give everybody a fair share of those rights equivalently. Today we cannot say black so not to offend African Americans, we cannot wear huge crosses because it offends non Christians and atheist and so on. I think the school system is right in trying to have a certain uniformity code where everybody looks the same and dress the same. It helps with the respect of others and it also helps with a zero tolerance. If you allow a Mohawk cut today you will allow, baggy butt dropping pants tomorrow, bandannas the next day ... and then there is no stopping anything anymore. School more than anywhere needs control, stability and uniformity or you will see schools fall into total anarchy.
