I don't know much about religions but thought I would let people know if you didn't know because I read some questions on here about him.

Is he a Buddhist? I would like to know more, and about the religion.

  1. I had already heard that he had cancelled some trips from fatigue.  This doesn't sound real bad, but he is old and even the Dalai Lama will eventually die.  But thanks for the post.

You can find out anything you want by just googling Buddhism.

  2. Yeah...he's suffering from exhaustion -- and I hear he's roommates with Amy Winehouse...

  3. I know that I sound paranoid, but it makes me suspicious that he has abdominal discomfort after he spends some time criticizing China. I hope they didn't poison him.

The Dalai Lama is a living buddha. He is the spiritual leader of Tibet. An enlightened being, a buddha, can choose to reincarnate to help other beings on their journey towards enlightenment. When a buddha dies, he reincarnates into a child who is identified through a series of rituals. This has been going on since the Gautama Buddha.

China raided Tibet 50 years ago next year, I think. They destroyed nearly all of the Tibetan temples, tortured and murdered buddhist monks and nuns, robbed them, and took over. The Chinese government is evil.

I have heard nuns and monks talking about the toruture they endured at the hands of the Chinese. It was gruesome. They electrocuted their genitals, for one thing.

So, the Dalai Lama has been in exile for nearly 50 years, I think.

The whole time he has been cheerful and peaceful and loving.

    Save Tibet!
