The check looks real and has my representative ID and it tells me exactly what im supposed to do with the money. But when i tried to cash it the lady refused to cash it and said it was a fraud. I called my assignment coordinator and she assured me the check was real and it wasnt a fraudulent check . I just want to know has anyone else ever done mystery shopping and i do remember signing up for a mystery shopper. Please help

  1. It is a scam, do not cash it, contact your state's attorney general's office to file a complaint, this mystery shopping fraud has been going on for awhile, don' be there next victim, they want you to send them some of it and have you keep the rest, they get your real money and you get stuck with a bad debt, the lady who refused to cash it did you a favor/

  2. Wow, sounds interesting.  I would make sure that the company you're signed up with is a reputable one.  It sounds like you are doing some "in person" mystery shopping.

There are also online mystery shopping companies that eliminate a lot of the hassle of dealing with large checks, etc, since most of the time you are just test shopping places that are online.

  3. It is a scam.To cash a check for that amount from your bank you have to have enough funds to cover it in your account. Now you go ahead and spend the money the way they tell you to and keep the difference for your hard work which might be a few hundred dollars. Then you find out a week later the check bounces now you are out a few thousands with no way to recuperate. Those places where you wired the money to  just got a few thousands of your personal money.

  4. Take it to the bank and have them run a check on it. They'll be able to tell. And whatever you do, don't take it to the police. My son recieved a bad check. I took it to the police and they said it was legit. I didn't believe them, took it to the bank and 2 days later, they called and said that it wasn't real. The best bet is the bank.
