  1. Concentrate on the case is your duty as a citizen.

  2. In my experience you sit around all day in a place like a station waiting room, with a lot of other bored people.  Some hours later,  a pile of you are asked to go into the court room, and a whole lot of you are told you are not needed for this case and you go back to the waiting room for another long time.  Then you go home.  Repeat for several days.

  3. Congratulations !!!  go for it !!! I hope you get seated on a jury, and see how our legal system works....I would tell you, but, that would spoil it for you.... kind of like telling you what you are getting for your birthday, and how fun is THAT ?!

  4. Bring a book.

It's pretty much like everyone here has said.  I get called every few years, and usually can finish a short novel.   One jurisdiction had a TV in the waiting room, which was pretty good.

In all those times, I've only served on one jury...you spend most of the time in the jury room going over the various counts against the defendant and discussing why you believe he/she is/isn't guilty of them.

Most of my fellow jurors were reasonable people, but we had two knuckleheads in the group who made the deliberation process more difficult than it had to be.

  5. never had it, and I cant caues Im a felon, but I heard its a nitemare.  Apparently its hours of sitting, like 8 hours worth.  Take money for lunch etc.  They do give you a lunch break.  If you knwo any of the people involved in the case, you will be excused and told that you cant do jury duty for that case.
