I just spied an opaque, soft-but-gelatinous, clump of unknown substance in my driveway. (details)?

It is in a shady spot of the driveway. There is roughly 10-12 ounces of it. The colors are the same as opaque / whitish quartz, and rose quartz. It gives off no odor that my nose can detect (within 1 foot), but then, I am a former smoker. (Smoking can damage sense of smell.)

20 minutes have passed from the time I discovered it. I detect no melting, but it may have become slightly softer in that time. The difference would be only a slight one though, because I can't really tell.

I am in a rural area in eastern Texas. The current temperature is 94 degrees, and it is a sunny day (no rain).

Does anyone have a clue what this substance might be?

  1. I found something very similar to what you described on the trunk of my car a few weeks ago.  My daughter told me it was tree sap and since I park under a tree it made sense to me.  I haven't seen anymore since then.  Are there trees near your driveway?  By the way, I live in northwest Louisiana.  Being so near in the same area, it's probably the same thing.
