I just started a local kids stuff trading group, what is the best way to get members?

I don't want to send out unwanted emails, and be a spammer, but I would really like to group to take off.

As far as I know there are not any "kids only items" groups in my area.

You will have to find sites aimed at the same people and see if you can trade links.
