  1. to stand out u got to be mean to others sometimes to show ur aggressive

  2. You don't always have to be politically agressive in the workplacce. I've found that the real opportunities go to the people who do their jobs well and don't complain. If you're given a task that intimidates you, keep a poker face and try to tackle the task even if you're not sure how to go about it. You'll surprise your boss and yourself. Don't talk about obstacles or challenges until you are certain they are going to get in your way, and when you do come to your boss with a problem, come with at least 1 or 2 ideas of how he can help you solve it. Whatever you do, don't get into the griping and complaining that happens around many workplaces, those are the people who don't get very far. If you are focused and have a can-do attitude, they are bound to look to you when they really need someone to accomplish something important.

  3. Dress the part. Pencil skirts, power heels, nylons. Bright colored accessories, blouses etc. When you feel the part, it will be easier to act it.

  4. Aggression doesnt have to be mean.  You can "stand out" of a crowd without stepping on the others. Being mean to other employees will only label you as a trouble maker.  And if you want to advance, you need to prove you get along with others.

I suggest taking on more projects, work a lil later, come in a little bit earlier.  attend meetings... AND voice an educated opinion... show them you know what you're talking about and are ready for more responsibility and ready to move on up the ladder.

Your actions will speak louder than words.. especially if you have already told them you are ready.....

they have HEARD it... now SHOW them!

    hope this helps

  5. Get all your work done and when questions are asked make sure you let your thoughts and opinions known. Also try making some friends at your work and you should be fine.
