would be something that I can deduct on my taxes. They use the donations for uniforms, shoes, etc. I don't know what type of deduction it would fall under but I know of large businesses sponsoring teams and I am sure it's got to be for the tax benefits.

  1. A cash donation normally would not be a business deduction.  If you paid for uniforms that had you name on them you could take a deduction for the advertisement that would come from that effort.  You may take a charity deduction on you personal Schedule A if you itemize and the group has a 501C(3).

  2. Sometimes businesses sponsor teams, have the business name on the team uniform, and can deduct it as an advertising expense.  Just making a donation to your daughter's cheerleading group wouldn't qualify as a deduction.
