Question:

I just started ballet and my legs and thighs are in serious pain...!?

I feel like I'm stretching muscles in my thighs and legs that have never been stretched before. The pain, however is manageable and it almost gives me a "high" and makes me want to keep doing ballet exercises! I know this is normal, but should I take any precautions? Is there a diet that I must follow?

  1. It's probably from doing plies you aren't used to and releve and all that good stuff.

Before you start them, warm your body up a bit and after you're done, stretch your legs by standing straight with feet togethr and reach down.

  2. That's normal.  You are working muscles that are not used to it yet.  Just make sure that you give them enough time to rest too.

  3. its normal

  4. No, just keep working hard.....your muscles aren't used to it and so they need to build up their strength.  Just don't overpush yourself - if it's just your thighs then that's normal.  Just eat healthy....junk food once in a very rare blue moon.  Good luck and have fun!

  5. I am going to kinda restate what they said it totally normal but if your in pain ice after class warm before and strech every day couple times it will help you with your dance and you will be in a lot less pain when you get used to it so no need to worry and good luck!
